What You Should Know About Beef Cattle Prices From Consumer and Cattle Owner Perspective

Beef cattle prices nowadays have to be closely monitored if you want to be updated. This might greatly affect your business decisions when it comes to raising cattle. As you probably know by now, the economy is not that stable. The beef sector has been affected just as well. Just in 2009, there was a decrease of $12.50 for every hundredweight of beef cattle prices.

Beef cattle prices have indeed declined. What may be surprising is that it corresponds to the decline in the U.S. stock market. Records have shown that almost 90 percent of the times, the beef cattle prices match the weekly data of the stock market. There is no direct effect of the stock market of course on the prices of beef cattle, but it goes to show that it has been affected by the economy.

There is no reason whatsoever that shows supply might be the cause of the decline. Another concern in beef cattle prices that greatly alarms the consumers is that the prices of retail beef do not lower as much as the producers or farmers’ prices. For example, even though a farmer’s price of live cattle has decreased by as much as eight dollars per hundredweight, the decrease in beef retail prices don’t even go low as one dollar. This means that there has been an increase in prices of the beef processes.

Here is a bit of good news though. There is no fixed pattern of prices. And recently, there have been signs that beef retail prices are on the decline. The difference between retail prices and live cattle prices have been narrowing down. This is good news to all you cattle breeders out there. But just keep in mind that the success of the economy plays the important role. Aside from this, another factor that would affect the beef cattle prices are the availability of feeds and pasture. Keep yourself updated and aware of the trends. Be in touch with other producers as well.

You might also want to be prepared for the shifting of prices when it comes to seasonal changes. Prices are usually lower during fall, so if you plan on buying live cattle take advantage of this opportunity. This year of 2010, there are signs of improvement because the world’s economy is recovering and beef exportation has been improving. Despite the damaging impacts, the beef sector is expected to improve.

The Best Solution to the Energy Crisis

The world heavily depends on fossil fuel for energy. The electricity we use daily comes from coal burning and other fossil fuels products like natural gas. This type of energy source has its limitation. For decades we have used an energy source that is non renewable, and according to experts; we have already consumed half of the fossil fuel reserves. With the ever increasing demand, and our current rate of consumption, we are likely to consume all the fossil fuel supply within just 35 years.

We still have an energy source better than fossil fuel, and it is all around us. Solar Energy, wind energy and hydro energy are just some of the energy we can use as an alternative for fossil fuel. These types of energy are renewable which simply means they will never run out.

Solar energy is probably one of the most abundant energy available in the planet. Almost anyone can make use of the suns free energy. That is also the reason why it is the most popular alternative energy being used today. There are wide ranges of solar application you can choose from. Using a solar heating application, anyone can keep their homes cozy at night all for free. The system stores the heat during the day, and slowly releases it throughout the night, keeping the entire house warm and comfortable.

Instead of using expensive natural gas for cooking, a solar cooker is a great alternative. It uses the free heat from the sun to cook food.

The most popular solar application uses a device called solar panel. It is comprised of several tiny photovoltaic cells. These small powerful cells can generate electricity. One of the good things about the solar panel, is it can be used anywhere there is a good source of sunlight. More and more households today are starting to adapt these solar applications to take advantage of the suns free energy.

Another alternative energy source for producing electricity is wind power. This kind of alternative energy is suitable for locations that have wide open areas and strong winds. If you are located near farm lands, then this is the best alternative energy source for you. The system is made up of several blades, a generator, and a tall tower. It looks almost like a windmill; the only difference is it produces electricity. More and more wind farms are now being developed these days to utilize the winds energy. This only proves how effective wind energy is for generating electricity.

Renewable energy sources like solar power and wind power has so many advantages over conventional production method like fossil fuel burning. Renewable energy sources produce clean and reliable energy without the threat of pollution, and best of all, it’s free and would never run out.

Dominate the Green Real Estate Market

It might seem that in rough economic times, people’s main priority would be on saving or generating money. There is some truth to this statement, but it is not the whole truth. Some home buyers are not just looking for a good financial deal. They also want to buy a “green” or environmentally friendly property. Actually, they might even be fusing their financial and environmental concerns by seeing saved energy as saved money, and a healthier planet as good for their own health, too. Either way, it might behoove home sellers and real estate agents to see how they can attract and keep the attention of eco-conscious buyers.

Firstly, you might try making small but critical changes to the property itself in order to make it more environmentally friendly. Some of these changes can actually be classified as basic sprucing-up of a home that is up for sale. For instance, a seller might want to fix a leaky pipe. Fixing that pipe will save precious water-a plus for many environmentally-conscious buyers. However, it should appeal to most buyers, whether they worry much about the environment or not. Bad plumbing will definitely make the property harder to sell, and may get you in trouble after the sale, if you concealed the problem from the buyer and did not fix it. Some areas have very strict laws about such things.

Now, think energy. Recent scientific data, natural events, and media blitzes have all contributed to a widespread concern over global warming. Human energy consumption has been pinpointed as a major contributor to global warming. If you add some insulation to windows or doors, or make sure that light fittings are compatible with energy-saving light bulbs, you will be better able to draw in people who want to help our planet.

Furthermore, you should do research on the house. What is it made of? Does it include any special materials that are environmentally friendly, or were procured in a way that does not harm the planet much? Hopefully, you will find some data that will please buyers of green real estate. If not, well, at least you will be able to answer the questions of such buyers, in case they are curious about building materials.

Even the location of a home might have some sort of “green” slant to it. Perhaps it is in an area close to a recycling center, or is situated such that a prospective buyer might be able to easily set up solar energy panels. Perhaps it is located on a windy spot, which allows the owner to cut down on air-conditioning expenses. If the house happens to be near critical locations such as the buyer’s workplace, this means that he/she can save on gasoline. If the home is very close to a public transportation station, even better! These are some location-related factors that can help you market a home to an eco-conscious buyer. As a seller or agent, you might want to include such information in your sales pitch.

Why Home-Made Energy

Our economy, and our environment these days insist that everyone take a responsible look for ways to save money, and help the environment, and home-made energy can do wonders for both.

Not only will you save a lot of cash, but you can completely diminish your electric bill. It is even possible to arrange for the light company to pay you for any extra power that your system stores.

Sure this may sound somewhat fantastic, but the truth is, it is fantastic! Whether your using solar power, wind power, or a combination of the two, it will be a great help in your money saving plans, and responsibility towards the environment.

Home-made energy, be it solar, or wind, is not a fad. It’s our responsibility as parents, grandparents, and citizens of this planet.

This Planet.

Does this planet have a future?! If we do not accept that the use of renewable energy is the only way we will have a future, we will fail to have a future. It is not just that we are going to deplete our current resources, but by using these sources we are destroying our environment.

So how does one explain a home-made energy and its benefits. I suppose we could try using some definitions so we will start with the most common household energy today for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint and save money would probably be solar energy.

- Solar energy: Of, pertaining to, or proceeding from the sun: Solar rays. And, Utilizing or operated by energy derived from the sun: a solar heating system.

- Solar battery: A system consisting of a large number of connected solar cells.

- Solar cell: A semiconductor device that converts the energy of the sunlight into electric energy, used mainly as a power supply in space vehicles.

Space. The final frontier? But wait, solar energy is safe, clean, inexpensive as a home-made energy, and as a source of energy it is everlasting.

Not to mention that it can completely remove the need for an electric bill. And yes, you can even sale your excess energy to the electric company.

Now that’s saving money and being responsible. Another safe, and becoming more commonly used home-made energy is derived from windmills.

Windmill: A mill or other machine that runs on the energy generated by a wheel of adjustable blades or slats rotated by the wind.

But it does not need to be just for a mill.

Windmills are also powering everything from barns, garages, houses, and even some towns. They can be very aesthetic and can also eliminate your light bill and allow you to sale excess energy to the utility company.

I do not want to ramble on, so allow me to keep this brief, whether you choose solar power, wind power, or a combination of the two, it’s a win-win for you, your family, your wallet and the environment.

You really do not need to get caught up in the definitions or the technical side of solar power or wind power. There are some excellent guides to show you how to convert your electricity to renewable power sources and you can easily build them yourself at home. The important thing is that you choose to make a difference and get started.
