Well seems that not only America has dreams but India too has its own dreams, of course here I’m noting the GREEN dreams for those 2 different counties. But first what are those dreams?
In one hand America wants to “commit to producing 100% of our electricity from renewable energy and truly clean carbon free sources within 10 years ” says Al Gore. But is that possible? what will happen to the oil companies?. Well seems that Al-Gore thought about it and through out his speech u find that he is proposing the solutions and even finding really good ways to divert America from the most polluting country in the world to the most Eco-friendly country in the world. To be true I watched his speech about 12 times, and then I heard it about 30 times. And seems that he believes that such a goal could be achieved, moreover he seems to know about the problem more than any environmentalist in the world!. He just blended the solutions altogether, solving America’s financial, economical, and environmental in a way that seems to be the begging of a new era!(if done). This era would be called the carbon-free era, or maybe the oil free era.
Many have said that our transition to energy sources other than fossil fuel will not be due to the absence of fuel, but simply because we find that such energy source will be no longer effective!. As Al Gore says:”the stone age didn’t end because of the shortage of stones”
Well I think that its time for renewable resources to take the lead, so to protect the environment and even change the shape of the world! Is there a better thing to do than turn green well at this time I don’t think that this is possible!
I’m really thankful that I was surfing through the internet trying to find some information about air pollution, when I accidentally saw Al Gore’s speech in which he starts to introduce the audience with the difficulties that America is facing , financial, economical, environmental etc… He then starts to introduce the really horrifying image about the climate changes, pollution etc.
Well the video was uploaded in July 18, 2008 and we are On August 2009. This means that one year has already passed and nine years are remaining to achieve America’s “Green” Dream!
On the other hand India seems to be ambitious and wanting to turn green too as India wants to produce 20 G-Watts of electricity form solar energy within 10 years!
But why a country like India want to achieve such a milestone? well I think that the Indian government Is thinking in right direction, as investing in such projects is far more better than investing in searching for oil deposits or dealing with oil producing countries.
A project of this kind will not only give India enough electricity to pump through the veins of the fast developing country, but to prove to the world that a growing developing country can grow without harming the environment.
Although India is now suffering form high pollution rates (air, water, soil) but this could be the LEAP that India wants to make in order to make things better in the future. As 20Gwatts of solar produced electricity would mean that there is no need for the present coal stations to produce electricity.
However, India wants and is relying on the fact that developed countries like USA would help by pumping financial and technological aid to the project. In fact the Indian government is already asking many countries for financial aid to the project. I think that this is going to be one of the first problems that need to be solved to keep this project going. As it is really funny to ask for financial aid from America or even form any other country and this is because of the financial crisis that did not finish yet.
Finally I really hope that both projects are achieved on time, as this means that serious steps are being done to help the environment and eventually reduce carbon emissions to zero!
