How Much More Abuse Can She Stand?
When I think about the tragic condition we have left our planet in, due to our selfish pursuit of profit first and our continual lack of respect and reverence for what nature has given us – my heart drops and ponders why.
For over 30 years ago, Marvin Gaye, in his epic R&B classic “Mercy Mercy Me”, poetically and vocally, challenged us as custodians of this earthly place – to stop the abuse, stop the pollution, stop the degradation of our earthly home – that we might exchange poison in the air for blue skies – oil wasted in the seas for seas full of bounty – radiation underground and in the sky for animals and birds that could live and fly.
